ALBANY, GA -- An Easter egg hunt was turned upside down at the intramural field at Darton College.

Over one thousand kids showed up to take part in the event.

Fox 31 Good Day's Anchor, Kelly D'Ambrosio, was on hand to emcee the event as a helicopter dropped 15,000 plastic eggs .

Once those eggs were dropped by the helicopter, kids 12 and under got the chance to search for them for winning prizes that ranged from candy to iPods, Nintendo DS and an iPad 2.

Mike Brooks, from Greenbriar Church, said "we know that the city could come together to do an amazing thing and we saw it today and it was a lot of fun and I hope everyone had a lot of fun too. We just wanted to serve our city in the best way we could and I think we able to do that."

This event was sponsored by Greenbriar Church who has already started planning for next year's egg drop which could see more churches participating.
