If you’re a Georgia Power customers get ready to pay a bit more on your monthly bill.
On April 1st customers will have to pay 1.7 percent more.
Utility Regulator approved this increase over a year ago.
The increase will help pay for two natural gas units that cost over one hundred million dollars needed for a Georgia Power plant in North Georgia.
Jay Smith the Albany Area Manager for Georgia Power says “consumption is increasing and we need these units to be able to supply that demand as well as well as maintain the reliable transmission system in all of Georgia.”
The new equipment is being added to comply with State environmental rules.
