The Albany Police Department need your help in a case of a drive-by purse snatching.
APD is looking for 26-year-old Chase Luke Payne who is a person of interest in a Robbery by Force of a person case. Last night, officers responded to the 700 block South Madison Street in reference to a “person down”.
During their initial investigation, officers learned that the suspect reached out of his driver’s side window and grabbed 28-year-old Sherrell Henderson Jones’s purse. He then drove off with her hanging onto the driver’s side door. The suspect reportedly dragged her from the 700 Block of Corn Avenue to the 700 Block of South Madison Street which is where she fell off of the vehicle. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Payne was last seen driving a silver or light colored 4-door Dodge Neon
