ALBANY, GA -- The contract between the city and the Georgia Tech procurement Assistance Center may not be renewed this year.

Director Chuck Schadl was at the meeting answering questions from the commission.

The center already offers state services that help small businesses grow and obtain government bids and commissioners say there isn't a difference between those and the services offered in their agreement for $100,000 a year.

“When you look at the information that they've provided to us, a lot of the things they're doing are the same things that other entities are doing at either a discounted rate or for free. The chamber has some programs that they're doing that provide these same type services,” says Commissioner Chris Pike.

Pike also worried the center doesn't have enough staff to accommodate Albany’s needs.
