ALBANY, GA --
Southwest Georgia Ron Paul supporters are giving back to local Albany soldiers.

On Saturday afternoon, they collected donated items from local businesses that are in support of the troops.

The group says Ron Paul has received more money than any other presidential candidate for active duty military members and this is their way to giving back.

They had a list of items that they put in every box. “Toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, mouthwash, deodorant that kind of thing. We also wanted to throw in some other types of things that you might not really think about. We are giving them silly string, it is good to send because it helps them detect trip lines and we also wanted to send them toys to give out to the Afghanistan children, “ said Ashley Branch of Southwest Georgians For Ron Paul.

Each care package included a letter written out to each one of the 14 military members from Albany in Afghanistan.
