ALBANY, GA --
Live Oak Elementary School held a special luncheon Thursday where the “Live Oak Leaders” got to have lunch with local leaders.

In the program various public figures from the Albany area ate with students and discussed the meaning of leadership.  Participants included Dougherty County Schools Superintendent Dr. Joshua Murfree, Albany Fire Department Chief James Carswell, Fox 31’s Anchor Romney Smith and Chief Meteorologist Mike Morrison, along with others.

After lunch, guests were treated to a guided tour of the school by students. Participants say the luncheon was a great opportunity to interact with motivated young people and the students say they enjoyed the opportunity to learn from one on one conversations over lunch.

The “Live Oak Leaders” program is comprised of 52 students from 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade.
