ALBANY, GA --
Albany State theater majors, along with Dougherty County School students heard from actor Palmer Williams, Jr., star of Tyler Perry's stage production of "The Have and the Have Nots".

One student there said he went to church with Williams and looked to him as an inspiration.

"Now he's starring in all these plays and everything and it's just a truly, truly prime example of what we can look towards one day after we graduate and after we try to go out and obtain our dreams," says theater major Christopher Atkinson.

Williams was also in Perry's stage production of "The Marriage Counselor" and can also be seen on Tyler Perry's House of Payne as Floyd, owner of the barber shop. Williams graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Hospital Administration from Knoxville College in Tennessee.  After graduating from college, Williams continued his musical career by going on to win several competitions at the world-famous Apollo Theatre in New York.  His vocal credits include singing back ground for R&B sensations Keith Sweat, LSG, and Grammy award winner, Monica.  Along with his vocal success, Williams ventured into the theatre with his stage credit, A Good Man Is Hard to Find and the stage play he directed and co-wrote, Where Have All the Good Men Gone?
