ALBANY, GA -- Rashelle Beasley was named Manager of Albany Convention & Visitors Bureau’s (CVB) on Wednesday; in Oct. 2011 Beasley accepted the Interim CVB Manager position.

Beasley says a new marketing and advertising campaign is already out featuring a unified brand for Albany.

She also says she’s working to put together year-round tourism packages to bring more families and groups to Albany on the weekend.

“We're working with our partners, the hotels here, the attractions, the restaurants, retail shopping to get packages together so that families can come into town and it'll be more of a one stop shop. They'll be able to spend the night here, go to an attraction; if it's a girlfriends trip they can go shopping, go to the spa; men can come into town and we can put something together with golfing,” says Beasley.

“I am proud to be able to announce that Rashelle Beasley has been given the permanent title of manager for the Albany Convention & Visitors Bureau in recognition of a job well done during the time she was acting as interim manager,” says Bobby McKinney, interim president at Albany Area Chamber of Commerce and Albany Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Beasley has proven herself as a diligent and confident leader. She was able to take the reins and keep the CVB moving forward. We know she will continue to keep Albany and the region top-of-mind.”

“I am excited about this new venture," says Beasley. "We have great team in place and working hard to promote Albany locally, statewide and nationally to bring visitors to our city, increasing tourism’s economic impact. I have a strong passion for Albany and I look forward to working with our city, county and Chamber to promote Albany in a positive light."

Beasley, a native of Mitchell County, joined the CVB team as Welcome Center Manager in July 2008. In that position she assisted the Albany CVB with opening the first regional Visitor Information Center at the Historic Bridge House. She also helped Albany’s Welcome Center achieve the level 5 State of Georgia Regional Visitors Information Center certification, making Albany the only RVIC in the Plantation Trace (SWGA Region).
