Albany City Commission heads to Atlanta to tackle local issues

City commissioners visited Atlanta this week, sitting in on seminars and talking with legislators. One issue commissioner Jon Howard is paying attention to is a bill that will crack down on metal theft. The bill calls for harsher jail sentences for those caught stealing metal who try to sell it. Shops that pay for metal will also have to follow stricter guidelines. Another trip to congress is planned for the middle of February.
