ALBANY, GA --
The next voting day is just over a month away and if you want to beat the long lines you can always consider getting an absentee ballot.

March 6th is election day in Dougherty County for this years' presidential primary and more than 50,000 registered voters will have the chance to vote.

Bradley Brock says that it is easier and more efficient in today's hectic environment by voting with an absentee ballot.

Before you are sent the actual ballot you have to go to the voter's registration office and fill out a written application. Once completed, an absentee ballot is sent in the mail to avoid and reduce fraudulent activity. For the elderly, military or busy people, an absentee ballot proves to be very convenient.

Advanced voting starts February 13th in the state of Georgia. Absentee ballots can be requested through March 2nd. For more information, you can log on to http://sos.Georgia.Gov/elections/voting_information.html
