ALBANY, GA -- Police want to keep you from being a target of holiday crime.

They say you can do this by recycling those boxes that your more expensive gifts came in.

Chances are, you got a nifty piece of technology this year, whether it was a new big screen tv, laptop or cell phone.

And before you leave that box out on the street by the trash, think again.

Burglars can easily ride by and see what’s worth stealing in your home.

“The other thing we encourage people to do is be involved with your neighbors and look out for each other,” says Chief Don Cheek of the Dougherty County Police.

Call Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful for recycle drop-off locations at 229-430-5257.
