As a part of the Martin Luther King Youth Art Celebration 2012, local students captured the theme of despair to hope in artwork

ALBANY, GA -- Artwork done by local students is on display as a part of the Martin Luther King Youth Art Celebration.

This year’s Best of Show winner is Diana Raulerson, an 11th grader from Westover High School. She also won the “Got It” award for best capturing this year’s theme, “From a mountain of despair to a stone of hope.”

The story behind Raulerson’s artwork is that amongst the trials and tribulations there is a glimmer of hope.

You can see more of the student artwork that reflects the art celebration's theme on display at the Thronateeska Heritage Center inside the science museum.
