ALBANY, GA. -- Christmas came early at one Albany church. The congregation made sure a group of children will be ready to ride on Christmas day.

Mount Early Baptist Church helped raise funds to purchase bikes for a group of boys and girls.

The idea came from one of the members of the church. He felt that each child should have a special gift for Christmas.

“A lot of children won't have such a merry Christmas as others will have so we wanted to provide that for them. I think when they leave tonight they will know that somebody does care and somebody does love them,” said Mt. Early Pastor Charles McDonald.

Several local funeral homes helped fund the project and K-Mart provided the bikes at a discounted price.
