The EDC announces Equinox is expanding

ALBANY, GA -- The Albany Dougherty Economic Development Commission announced today that the Equinox Chemical Company is expanding their operations.

Equinox is a home-grown company known for their chemical research and manufacturing.  The company recently bought a cleaning product company out of Missouri.  In order to accommodate their expansion Equinox will invest more than $1.5 million dollars into a new facility and create 46 jobs.  Some of the jobs are relocations, while others will be new-hires.

Ted Clem, President of the EDC says bringing dozens of jobs to Albany is a big deal.  “Forty-six is a big number and especially for a manufacturing company. And they are high paying, highly skilled position and for those 46 people with a job that's great news to get right before Christmas” says Clem.

Equinox has won various awards including ones for excellence, diversification, and global exports.

Equinox CEO Mark Grimaldi says he looks forward to even more growth over the next three years.
