DOUGHERTY COUNTY, GA -- The Southwest Georgia community came together over the past few months to make a very special trip happen for fallen Dougherty County Police Officer Lt. Cliff Rouse.
Thanks to friends, family, local non-profits and businesses the Rouse family will go on an all expense paid trip to Disney World.
The family will have access to all Disney parks as well as a special dinner show at Medieval Times. Organizer Aubrey Halstead says there is one reason for sponsoring this special trip. “We’re coming up on the one year anniversary of the loss of Cliff and we were a bit concerned that his wife and kids would be dwelling on last year’s tragic events, so we wanted to replace that with a dream” says Halstead.
Multiple businesses from Albany to Atlanta donated to make the trip possible. The businesses include the Red Pebble Plantation, the Lily Pad Sane Center, Adams Exterminators, Southern Ag, and more.
