ALBANY, GA -- The Economic Development Commission is getting in on the fight to save Albany’s processing plant.

The commission voted at Wednesday’s meeting to write a letter to congress in support of keeping it open.

“There will be some jobs affected here in Albany of course, and we need to fight for those jobs and we believe we need to fight for every job in Albany,” says EDC President Ted Clem.

Also discussed at the meeting were trade shows attended by EDC members in Chicago, Atlanta and Texas where they spread the word on the great opportunities in Albany.
