ALBANY, GA -- Some Albany Marines hit the road Tuesday; you may have seen them running downtown.

Eighteen Marines from MCLB Albany participated as the Special Operations Forces Run passed through Albany. This is the seventh year of the run.

“After nine eleven, we kind of handed the flag off to the military to protect this nation and our marines and our special ops guys have been doing just that, we haven't been attacked again so it is our way of giving back and showing them that we support them,” said organizer Bill Stevens.

Today was just a short two mile run, but at least one person stays on the ground for duration of the run which stretches from Duluth, Georgia to Tampa Bay, Florida.
