ALBANY GA -- An Albany police officer killed in the line of duty was laid to rest Friday. The funeral service for officer Terry Lewis Flemming was attended by hundreds of police officers and family members.

It was so big it had to be held at the Albany Civic Center. Police Chief John Proctor said Flemming died serving her community.

“She has made a difference, in the lives of the people of this community and it is evident that her service and commitment to her profession has touched many,” said Proctor.

Officer Flemming was killed when her car hit a tree while chasing robbery suspects. The 5-year veteran leaves behind a husband, three children, and three step-children.
