ALBANY, GA. -- The artworks of local artists are on display in the Carnegie Library in downtown Albany.

The 8th Annual Southwest Georgia College Art Invitational features young artists from Albany and Valdosta State Universities.

Themes on display include everything from abstract art to traditional paintings.

The coordinator says the exhibit is a way for students to get their names out there and give locals a taste of what's new in the art world.

“Students at the college level like to experiment and push boundaries so that's one of the things that's exciting about the show,” said Albany State Art Professor Charles Williams.

The exhibit is set to run through November 23rd.
