ALBANY, GA -- The Albany Housing Authority is bringing together communities through its “Choice Neighborhoods” program.

The McIntosh housing neighborhood behind Hugh Mills Stadium is being illuminated by lanterns to signify joining with the Rawson Circle and Paramount Heights neighborhood.

On Thursday, “Choice” members held a fall festival for families in an effort to join homeowners and public housing residents.

“It's just to get the kids out here and give them a chance to play and let the neighbors who didn't know each other get to know one another and let us as housing authority staff get to know our residents as well,” says Choice Neighborhoods Assistant Director Denita Wiggins.

The housing authority held the event also as a way to commemorate "Red Ribbon Week."
