ALBANY, GA -- Young ladies donned white gloves and ornate hats Saturday at an annual fundraiser.

It was for the Lee County Female Mentoring Program--a program that provides mentors for young minority females in Lee and Dougherty County.

Their fundraiser, called the "Mad Hatters Luncheon", was held at Albany Technical College.

“We wear hats and gloves and talk a little about what the hat means to black women and why we even wear them,” says Vice President Sandra Parker.

Mentors also took the girls around to colleges they may be interested in.
