ALBANY, GA -- Breast cancer was the focus of a brunch today at the Cathedral of Praise Church.

Women came decked in pink at the church on West Broad Avenue. Organizers handed out health information and brought in experts to talk about insurance options for women with breast cancer.

“Breast cancer is the number one killer in women, particularly African American women. Because people are not getting the early detection. So we wanted to put the information out there for women to go get their annual mammograms and to do self breast examinations,” said coordinator Travis Erin.

October is Women don pink for breast cancer.
