ALBANY, GA -- If you haven’t learned or asked questions about the new district maps for Albany, here’s your chance.

A second public hearing about redistricting will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. at Albany State University at Orine Hall. City officials will be on hand to inform the public of changes coming to city districts due to new 2010 Census numbers.

No adjustments will be made to the current proposal until after November’s election when a mayor and commissioners are elected. City officials say they would like to have the new lines ready in time for the November 2012 election.

At the last public hearing, Assistant City Manager Wes Smith said it’s important for the public to get involved with the process – the public does have a voice when saying which district they feel they fit better in.
