School busses will be on the road Monday morning

Dougherty County roads will have dozens of school busses on them Monday morning.

Local officials are asking all drivers to be aware of all school busses and to mind all traffic rules.  The Albany Police Department is asking all drivers to leave a few minutes early so that drivers have extra time in case they are stopped behind a school bus, as well as watching for students.  Officials say students don’t always use the crosswalk and it’s important to try to avoid accidents at all costs.  Speeding fines are doubled in school zones.

Elementary schools start at 8:00 a.m., middle schools start at 8:15 a.m., and high schools start at 8:45 a.m.
