Updated with video; Buses are going to be back on the road soon. Is your child signed up?

DOUGHERTY COUNTY, GA -- Be alert morning commuters, the first day of school is coming up. That means school buses will be back on the road.

And parents, Dougherty County School officials want to remind you to make sure your children are signed up for bus service.

Some bus stops may have changed so don't assume your child will get picked up if you haven't signed up.

“This is an annual requirement for students to register to ride the school bus. This is to help us with safety and security of the students, so we know what student is on each bus and also control the number of students that are assigned to each bus,” said Dougherty County Schools Transportation Director Kenneth Williams.

You can fill out a transportation request and drop it off at your child’s school. You can find more information online at the DCSS website.
