Updated with video; Taxes to remain same as last year's

ALBANY, GA -- The Dougherty County Commission met Monday morning, voting unanimously on a couple items, including approving millage rates at last year's levels.

"It was good today to approve the millage rate for 2011-2012 that the county had no increase of course in taxes, and that's very important particularly in this economy, but it's important at all times," said Jeff Sinyard, the commission chairman. "We are continuing to try to cut our expenses and to run the county government as close to a business as possible.

The commission also voted to approve a list of roads that will receive maintenance from an infrastructure grant.
