ALBANY, GA -- A person of interest has been charged in connection with a south Albany shooting Sunday.

Yapphet Callhoun has been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Police responded to a shooting victim around 3:25 Sunday afternoon.

According to police, 31-year-old LeCory Sherrod Walker was found shot in the leg at 509 South McKinley Street Sunday afternoon.

Neighbors say neither the suspect, nor the victim lives in the neighborhood, but said walker had driven his motorcycle to 509 South McKinley apartment B and asked if he could call 911.
