DOUGHERTY COUNTY, GA -- The Georgia Department of Transportation may be granting Public Works a grant for some roadwork in our area.

Larry Cook with the Dougherty County Public Works submitted five roads to the GDOT for consideration.

The roads just need resurfacing, but Cook says it's better they get to them now before they get too bad.

“We try to catch them before they get to that point, the cost factor increases when you wait till you get potholes and deterioration into the roadbed,” says Cook.

The roads include Stagecoach Road, Halsey Road, Pryor Street, Weymouth Drive and Little Train Lane, which are all in the unincorporated area of Dougherty County.
