Tips to help cut down those high power bills.
ALBANY, GA. -- During the summertime most people notice a spike in their energy bills and officials say there is something you can do to offset the cost.
Folks at the boys and girls club have been holding classes to help people cut power bills. They say people should try turning down the thermostat and keep it at a steady rate to cut costs.
Another savings measure is to use less hot water.
Michael Nelson, service director for the Boys and Girls Club, says the only thing you need hot water for is washing dishes and bathing. He says the biggest savings can come from your appliances.
“Energy efficient appliances especially like washers saves water and it only washes with the correct temperature,” said Boys and Girls Club Service Director Michael Nelson.
He says it only takes a little effort to save a few bucks.
