ALBANY, GA -- A 28-person roundtable committee met in Camilla Tuesday to discuss transportation projects to present to the state.

Locally, the Highway 133 extension may end up on that list.

The committee is made up of officials from 14 local counties and cities in our region.

Officials say the improvements will help transportation, and as an added bonus, because they'll help southwest Georgia’s economy as well.

“Just road construction alone will bring a lot of jobs and of course, each county will have a set-aside from the T-SPLOST that they can use for their own roads."

A final draft of the list is expected August 15th.

The referendum will come to voters next July when the public will be able to decide whether or not they want to implement another one cent sales tax to pay for the projects.
