Albany's new Parents for Cchange group got the ball rolling Saturday on their mentorship program
ALBANY, GA -- Albany's new Parents for Change group got the ball rolling Saturday on their mentorship program.
Organizers invited kids, age 13 to 19, to pair up with mentors looking help young children.
Mentors in the program say sometimes parents aren't always around and it takes a collective of adults to make sure kids stay on the right track.
“We're hoping that we'll be there mentors, so they can become mentors and their children will become mentors. So it's not a mentor for a certain season it's for life,” said Cheryl Calhoun, one of the mentors.
Parents for Change is an extension of the Stop the Violence organization.
