Current director Lee Formwalt has put in his letter of resignation last week

ALBANY, GA -- Albany's Civil Rights Institute is going to be without a director at the end of the year.

Current director Lee Formwalt has put in his letter of resignation last week. He says his heart and family are in Indiana and he's looking forward to going back home.

“My job here was to help get this thing jumpstarted and to get community recognition for the museum and I think we've come a long way since I first started 17 months ago,” said Formwalt.

Formwalt will stay on through the end of December to make sure there is a smooth transition.
