Three local bluegrass bands played at Saturday's event

ALBANY, GA -- There was some toe-tapping going on over at the Hasan Temple Saturday.

‘Barbeque and Bluegrass’ was in full swing.

The event was meant to raise money for the temple and local shriners and all they do for the children of southwest Georgia.

“We hope to keep it annual, this is the first time we've done it. Had a limited budget on advertising, but used Facebook and all these means that were free to us to advertise. Hopefully we'll have a good crowd, good turnout and raise some money for the temple,” Said event organizer, Jeb Tabb.

Among the acts playing were the Homesick Ramblers, the Cowtown String Band and Albany’s own Evergreen Family Band.
