Six Albany Tech students receive awards at Collegiate DECA Career Development Conference

ALBANY, GA -- Six Albany Technical College students brought back state awards for the 2011 Collegiate DECA Career Development Conference.

Chancy Davis and Shana Kendrick won first place winners for their presentation on Sports and Entertainment Marketing. Coming in second place is Thomas John who competed in Restaurant and Food Service Management. Rounding out third place was Lindsey Dellinger with a Human Resource Management project.

The students will have the opportunity to attend the International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Florida later this year.

DECA prepares high school and college students around the globe who are interested in becoming entrepreneurs and having a career in marketing, finance, hospitality and management.

Students participating in the DECA conference competed in three categories: Business Simulations, Prepared Business Presentations and Case Study.
