AHA funding several building projects

ALBANY, GA. -- The Albany Housing Authority is doing its part to stimulate the local economy.

The AHA Board of Commissioners met today and discussed the status of several current and future building projects.

Significant renovations on Thronateeska Homes and O.B. Hines Homes are nearing completion at a cost of about one million dollars each.

Similar improvements to other housing developments will begin shortly.

"We’re excited about that, that we’ll be able to put out a good number of dollars, probably 2.5, 3 million dollars in the next few months," said AHA's Dan McCarthy.

The renovations will focus on energy conservation measures like replacing outdated windows and improving insulation.
