Individuals arrested by U.S. ICE agents
ALBANY, GA. -- An official with the Tift County Sheriff’s Office tell FOX 31 that reports that 36 illegal immigrants were arrested in that county are “erroneous.”
David Hare of the Tift County Sheriff’s Office says six illegals were briefly detained inside the Tift County Jail – at the request of federal ICE agents.
The six individuals were not fingerprinted or booked into the jail.
Hare says ICE agents picked up all the detainees but he didn’t know where they were taking them.
The Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency is part of the Homeland Security Department.
