THOMASVILLE, GA -- A tragic accident in Thomas County claims the life of a 2-year-old girl. 

Lt. Steven Jones with the Thomas County Sheriff’s Department tells FOX 31 News that the girl, whose name has not been released, died Wednesday after being struck by a vehicle driven by a relative. The driver reportedly did not see the girl in the driveway of the family home. Lt. Jones said the child was struck shortly after 1 p.m. in the 2000 block of Summerhill Road. 

Lt. Jones said the girl died in the emergency room at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville. Lt. Jones said no charges will be filed.
