ALBANY, GA -- Christmas presents went out to some local senior citizens Wednesday.

The Dougherty County Rotary Club partnered with the SOWEGA Council on Aging for the third annual Santa for Seniors gift drop.

They say many of the seniors may not have had a Christmas at all.

“Christmas is focused a lot on children, and that is great, but sometimes the seniors are forgotten,” said Crisp Gatewood, of the Rotary Club. “It's a great thing when we go and deliver these presents, the expressions and the thanks that we get, if you haven't already gotten the spirit of the season you'll get it then.”

Rotary members raised $750 to pay for the presents. They delivered gifts and cookies right to the seniors' doorsteps.
