Albany resident Wanda Rowell’s son Rex walked away from a crash that happened last summer with minor injuries
ALBANY, GA -- Police say about half of the Georgians killed in car accidents, die because they aren’t wearing their seatbelts.
Albany resident Wanda Rowell’s son Rex walked away from a crash that happened last summer with minor injuries. He was a passenger in a car that flipped two or three times; Rex was not wearing a seatbelt.
Rowell encourages everyone to wear their seatbelts because a person’s decision doesn’t only affect them. “When you buckle up, you’re not just affecting yourself, you have a mother or father or brother or sister who loves you and wants you to be safe,” says Rowell.
Rowell says she thinks the scar on Rex’s face left from the accident is a daily reminder of what can happen when you’re not buckled up.
