Small businesses taught to seek government contracts

ALBANY, GA -- Private business owners in Albany got a lesson in creating public profits today.

Albany’s Small Business Procurement Program is a partnership with Georgia Tech that assists businesses in securing government contracts.

In this time of economic downturn, government contracts can be a source of stability and growth.

But officials advise companies not to put all their eggs in one basket.

"Business owners need to be diversified in who they sell to and that they sell both to the private sector and public sector," said Clovia Hamilton of Georgia Tech.
