CORDELE, GA. -- Cordele police are working a case and looking for a woman they say ripped off Alltel wireless for thousands of dollars.

The woman opened up multiple accounts and got new phones. But then the bills arrived and Alltel didn't get the money, a loss of $3254.91.

“Someone in Cordele opened up several accounts in their child's name. When they went to pay for the accounts they used a bogus account at regions bank,” said Lt. Louis New of the Cordele Police Department. “I believe the child was about nine years old and that in itself is forgery.”

Alltel says they plan to sue to recoup the money, but has not decided whether they will press criminal charges on the customer.
