Simple steps can help you avoid getting sick

ALBANY, GA. -- In addition to immunizations, there are some simple steps you can take to help avoid spending flu season in bed.

Washing your hands and using a sanitizer regularly is the best defense.

And if you or members of your family are already under the weather, it’s important to do all you can to prevent spreading an illness to others.

"If you know you’re sick, just stay home from work and keep your kids home from school and get plenty of Vitamin C, like having orange juice, and make sure you cover when you cough," said Suzette Profit of the Dougherty County Health Dept.
