Lee County Animal shelter adopted Fifth Friday Foundation Animal Shelter on Friday
LEE COUNTY, GA -- The Lee County Animal Shelter is now the Fifth Friday Foundation Animal Shelter.
Lee County Commissioners voted to dedicate the shelter to the foundation that donated more than $200,000 to it. Originally the foundation had $80,000 to donate. Foundation member Dr. Phillip Hajek says they plan to continue helping the animal shelter.
“We contribute to the animal shelters around the area. Every fifth Friday we keep a little bit [of money] back. The ability to launch a big project has been really fun,” says Dr. Hajek.
The Fifth Friday Foundation Animal Shelter currently holds 21 animals.
At the last Lee County Board of Commissioners meeting, the board voted to help with publicity efforts for the shelter.
