ALBANY, GA -- A group of Southwest Georgians volunteered their time Saturday morning by cleaning up the Flint River.
'Rivers Alive' encourages cleanups along all 70,150 miles of Georgia's rivers, lakes, and streams. The campaign's intent is to create awareness of Georgia's water resources through hands-on involvement.
Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful President Judy Bowles says people throw all kinds of trash in the river. “We find toilets we have tires, we have refrigerators, stoves, and I mean it’s absolutely unbelievable what people put in our river,” says Bowles.
