The Albany High School Band walked away from a tournament last weekend as Grand Champions
ALBANY, GA -- One Dougherty County High School Band brought home a trophy that’s hard to come by.
Some Albany High School students marched and played their way to a Grand Championship this past weekend. In able to win the Grand Championship trophy, the band had to excel in four areas: the drum major, color-guard, drum line, and overall band.
Winning trophies is nothing new for the Albany High band, but Director Trevor Baxter says this time the mean a little more. “The last time I heard about anything such as the one trophy here, was about 1992,” says Baxter.
Band members say it took a lot of work to win the title. They hope to add a few more trophies to their cabinet over the next few years.
