Event gives companies and consumers one-on-one time
ALBANY, GA -- Darton College’s new student center was bustling with business at the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business Expo on Thursday.
“It’s been really good to let people know that we’re in town and that we’re here to service them,” says Cassandra Jackson with AT&T.
At the expo, companies weren’t only conversing with consumers.
“Any time you can meet businesses that use your product it’s always good and saves time and money,” says David Hicks with Dougherty Blueprint.
Hicks says businesses can make contacts without making a bunch of phone calls.
“We thought it was a good chance to network with other businesses in the community and also make some contacts with people and tell them about some new products that we have out, says Cameron Malphrus with Comnet Technical Solutions Inc.
With local businesses at the same place and at the same time, networking was easy.
“It’s always good to network with businesses. It’s good to grow in the community and what better what to do that than network with other businesses in the area,” says Jackson.
This week, the government announced that the recession is over, but some businesses at the event say it doesn’t feel like it. That’s why it’s important for them to come to events such as the Business Expo to continue networking and gaining business.
“We just sort of keep headstrong and in the right direction and try to make a go of it,” says Malphrus.
“Whoever got their figures together and said the recession was over has got their head in the clouds somewhere,” says Hicks.
After nearly four hours at the Business Expo, the forecast for their production is looking sunny.
