Police say a driver crashed his car into motel on Oglethorpe Blvd.

ALBANY, GA -- Police are searching for a hit and run driver who crashed a car into an Albany motel and sent a woman to the hospital.

Officers were called out to the Oglethorpe Motel Monday night. When they got there they found a hole in the wall but the car was gone.

A white Lexus believed to be involved was found about six blocks away from the scene.

“We believe that there was a passenger in the vehicle and when we questioned that particular passenger they're saying that the particular driver actually stepped on the gas instead of the brake so that is what actually caused the accident,” said Steve Butler of the Albany Police Department.

The impact knocked a woman off her couch. She was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
