ALBANY, GA -- Ousted USDA official Shirley Sherrod tells FOX 31 News that she plans to meet with U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack.

Sherrod, the former USDA rural development director for Georgia was forced to resign in July after a blogger posted a portion of a speech she gave that portrayed her as a racist, however, Sherrod's speech when examined in its entire text, explained that she actually did help the white farmer.

The White house and the NAACP have since apologized for their responses to the incident.
