Macon police found 46-year-old Tracey Brazzell Payne lying dead in the bushes in the backyard of the house
MACON, GA (AP) -- Officials have determined a woman whose body turned up in the backyard of a Macon home Thursday died after she was attacked by a pack of pit bulls.
Police found 46-year-old Tracey Brazzell Payne lying dead in the bushes in the backyard of the house at about 2 p.m. An autopsy conducted Friday led authorities to believe she died from the dog attack, as many as eight hours earlier. Coroner Leon Jones says Payne died of blunt force trauma and lacerations from the dog attack.
Macon police spokeswoman Jami Gaudet says there's still missing information and police are waiting on a full autopsy report.
