It's estimated that over $70,000 worth of marijuana was confiscated
Albany Police have made several arrests and the Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit has confiscated several thousand dollars worth of marijuana in a drug bust Tuesday night.
It happened around 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at 1506 West Lincoln Avenue where police originally responded to a burglary in progress. When they arrived on scene, they saw two men in black fleeing the house. Police then took a closer look inside the home and found growing equipment and over 70 marijuana plants.
“$1,000 a plant, 70-something plants, $70,000 of potential street dope here. Some of these leaves are six and seven and eight inches across. I can put my hand over it and they’re still bigger than my hand,” Says Major Bill Berry with the Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit.
Police have made arrests in this case. We’ll have more information as it becomes available.
